John and I both happen to have Blackberries. I have heard that the other name for these devices is “Crackberry,” because you basically become an addict. That’s ok with me! Mine is an 8110, and it is really sweet (although typing in stuff is difficult).

John and I both happen to have Blackberries. I have heard that the other name for these devices is “Crackberry,” because you basically become an addict. That’s ok with me! Mine is an 8110, and it is really sweet (although typing in stuff is difficult).

I especially love being able to go on the Internet. In my surfing, I ran across some cool sites for Blackberry users. Here they are:

<a href="http://www.pinstack.com"target="_blank" class="fullsource" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.pinstack.com');">www.pinstack.com: this site is a bit difficult to navigate at first. However, it is chock full of great information, and stuff related to every version of blackberry. Plus access to free games, free ringtones, etc. Well worth the time.

<a href="http://www.crackberry.com"target="_blank" class="fullsource" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.crackberry.com');">www.crackberry.com: I like this website more visually that pinstack. It has articles and the like with more pictures, and seems easier to navigate right out of the gate.

<a href="http://www.blackberrycool.com"target="_blank" class="fullsource" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.blackberrycool.com');">www.blackberrycool.com: This site has slightly different articles about Blackberry related stuff.

<a href="http://www.blackberry.com"target="_blank" class="fullsource" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.blackberry.com');">www.blackberry.com: This is the official site, of course. Believe it or not, it has cool how-to guides, interactive demos, and handy tips on it. You just have to know where to look. (Support, bottom of page)

So, those are just some of the cool sites that are out there. If you happen to run into one, leave a comment or shoot me an email! I’ll post any great sites you send. Kevin@geekscribe.com

I had a new person register today and normally I don’t really bother with seeing who they are or checking them out, but the domain name caught my eye. It was Dot from ChicksDigGames.com and I have to say…I really like the site. It’s almost as amazing as mine (yeah, I’m biased.)

Okay, so Popscribe is probably my bigger passion in the blog world but I’m a gamer too dammit!

Anyway so I wanted to encourage people to check it out Dot’s site even before she asked me to say that. See? I’m like saying that all on my own so you know it must be good. Also have a look at her blog for some excellent reading. The story of Game Stop Girl is priceless.

How does this level end? With you visiting their site and me finding a special gun in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 that allows me complete domination of all my enemies. Okay…that last part I made up, but you can visit Dot’s site. That part was real.

If you’re an Apple user, then this is probably the perfect thing for you.

A new online network launches today for Apple followers. The Digitalifestyle (www.thedigitallifestyle.tv) mixes original programs along with
popular Apple/tech-related podcasts, and YouTube material, as well as daily news updates and live coverage of breaking tech news events.

“Imagine if you could watch a 24-hour TV network dedicated to Apple news, rumors, and lifestyle. We’ve created that experience online,” said founder Ryan Ritchey. Podcasts coming to the lineup include “CommandN” with Amber Mac, and Mogan Webb’s “Webb Alert.”

Utilizing live video technology from Mogulus, viewers are able to watch live broadcasts, as well as participate by submitting their own video
segments. Original shows on the network include “Root Access,” a weekly live tech help show with a former “Mac Genius,” and “Gary’s Garage,” a look at Apple and other company’s products of days gone by.

“We want this network to bring the benefits and pitfalls of living the Digital Lifestyle to light, while engaging and interacting with the
audience in a new way,” Ritchey said

I’ve checked out the site and it’s very cool. They’ve got a show with a Mac Genius in case you’ve ever wanted to ask a question, but were afraid to. How could you go wrong with Morgan Webb and a dedicated show for the iPhone. Yummy!

Speaking at the NewTeeVee conference yesterday, YouTube co-founder Steve Chen confirmed that YouTube was testing HD video but qualified the statement by stating that YouTube is primarily focused on providing content to everyone, which doesn’t necessarily facilitate a HD product.

Chen spoke on the difficulties on providing a watchable HD product to many, including buffering times that don’t drive viewers away. Chen told CNet that the first HD content on YouTube should be available within 3 months.

Here’s what’s new:

Looking pretty - The entire document list has been given a complete visual overhaul - new icons, more content, and better organizational controls. We know users spend a lot of time here and we aim to make it feel more like home.

Getting organized - Almost from the day we launched people have been clamoring for folders. They’re here! Even cooler, our new folders continue to work like the tags they’ve replaced - your old tags are automatically converted to folders and documents can live in more than one folder at a time. Organizing your documents is as easy as dragging and dropping a document to a folder. We’ve also included special controls for seeing only those documents created by you or shared with a particular person.

Search that thinks ahead - If you’ve ever tried Google Suggest, you know how cool it is when a search engine offer suggestions as you type. Google Docs & Spreadsheets now works the same way - we offer dynamically filtered results from your document list as you type, saving you time and getting you to your documents more quickly.

USB Fondue Set

Tired of the lunchtime greasy McBurger with pickle routine? Looking to expand your culinary sophistication without leaving your cube? Look no further than the Fundue™ - the World’s first desktop USB fondue set. With features like an LCD display, blue LED glowing heater element and fireglow USB cables you’ll be the MacDaddiest, most svelte lemming in the office come lunchtime.

Sure, you’ll be sucking precious energy from your computer’s power supply that your motherboard might need, but who cares when you are also sucking on a piece of crusty french bread drenched in a nutty Gruyere!

Due to current limitations in the USB specification for power consumption, your Fundue should only be used to melt cheeses and chocolates. However, when the new USB 3.0 specification hits the industry (which will allow USB devices to consume much more power), your Fundue will be ready for advanced fondue techniques such as oil dipping and desktop frying!

USB Tanning Lights

If you get into the deep chemical and engineering science of this process, you’ll soon figure out that it’s the UV rays that cause this skin color change. And, lucky for you, UV rays are easy to produce in mass quantities of lamps built in China and sold on ThinkGeek. Yay!

Don’t let the sun have the monopoly on making people love you more. Get the USB Desktop Tanning center and, in the comfort of your own cubicle, a scrumptiously golden tone can be yours in about the same time it takes you to update your lame blog with another meaningless entry that nobody will ever read. Ever.

PC EZ-Bake Oven

Our newest contribution to the “No effort, No problem” craze is also a throwback to one of the toys we loved as kids. Who can forget the joy of mixing up a tiny cake mix and cooking it with the warm glow of a light bulb? We didn’t seem to care that it was only about 3 bites worth - it was damn tasty, and homemade with our own grubby little hands.

Now the computer savvy among us can relive the fun of having your very own personal mini-oven with the PC Ez-Bake oven! It fits in a 5 1/4″ drive bay and plugs right into your power supply with the included Molex connector. Also included is “PC Ez-Cook”, the open-source oven controller software with hundreds of easy and creative recipes for your PC Ez-Bake oven, and even a fuzzy-logic cooking control system to precisely measure the doneness of your cake, cookie, or cheese souffle. The PC Ez-Bake oven can even be used to cook your Pop Tarts, Bagel Bites, or any tiny or flat food. YUM!

George Foreman USB iGrill

The low-fat, high-bandwidth solution to your networked cooking needs is finally here. The George Foreman USB iGrill conveniently connects to your home or office PC using USB 2.0 technology, and provides a sophisticated web-based cooking interface.

Download recipes, enter in the type of food, weight and desired degree of doneness, and the iGrill handles the rest. Did you know that a medium rare 1/4 lb. hamburger made from 80% lean beef takes 1 minute and 45 seconds less cook time than an identical patty made from 95% lean prime Black Angus? The iGrill does. As your meal cooks, the subtle glow from under the unit increases brightness and pulses faster until your meal is perfectly done.
