You probably seen the viral video going around of the girlfriend secretly recorded in her panties doing the Wii Fit Hula Hoop game. I posted it here if you missed it. It became an overnight sensation because, well…she’s wiggling around in panties. Rumors started not long after that it was all a fake since she and her boyfriend who filmed it are both in marketing and that it was some new campaign from Nintendo. As it turns out though, it was just Lauren Bernat getting filmed by her boyfriend Giovanny Gutierrez for his (and our) pleasure.

The woman - who is probably gracing many an internet forum as an animated GIF right now - is Lauren Bernat, 25, who was filmed by her marketing executive boyfriend, Giovanny Gutierrez, 30. Though Bernat also works in advertising, neither of them works for an agency that handles Nintendo’s marketing at all. The video shows just what it seems like: a guy who wanted to show off his girlfriend playing Wii Fit:

Mr Gutierrez filmed the video in the lounge of their Florida home.

He said: “My girlfriend loves Wii Fit and looks hot doing it.

“I thought it was cute and it was actually done with good intentions if she ever doubted how great looking she is.

“She was furious when she found out. She called me on the phone screaming her head off and then hung up on me.
Wii Fit girl

Web star: Lauren Bernat was initially angry when she found out about the clip on YouTube

“But she now finds herself laughing about it and enjoying her 15 minutes of fame as the Wii Fit girl. It’s just crazy how it’s blown up.”

He added: “If she had known she was being filmed she would have changed her outfit to something cuter - perhaps let her hair down, taken her glasses off, etc.”

Source

Nintendo also denies having anything to do with the video. They say: “This has and is absolutely 100 per cent nothing to do with Nintendo. Nintendo did not create it and were not aware of it until it was brought it to our attention.”

I’m thinking they need to call this couple and give them a job. Hello!!?

I found this pretty interesting. These scientists took a PlayStation 3 chip and advanced it making the world’s fastest super computer. Amazing!

Scientists unveiled the world’s fastest supercomputer on Monday, a $100 million machine that for the first time has performed 1,000 trillion calculations per second in a sustained exercise.

The technology breakthrough was accomplished by engineers from the Los Alamos National Laboratory and IBM Corp. on a computer to be used primarily on nuclear weapons work, including simulating nuclear explosions.

The computer, named Roadrunner, is twice as fast as IBM’s Blue Gene system at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, which itself is three times faster than any of the world’s other supercomputers, according to IBM.

“The computer is a speed demon. It will allow us to solve tremendous problems,” said Thomas D’Agostino, head of the National Nuclear Security Administration, which oversees nuclear weapons research and maintains the warhead stockpile.

But officials said the computer also could have a wide range of other applications in civilian engineering, medicine and science, from developing biofuels and designing more fuel-efficient cars to finding drug therapies and providing services to the financial industry.

To put the computer’s speed in perspective, it has roughly the computing power of 100,000 of today’s most powerful laptops stacked 1.5 miles high, according to IBM. Or, if each of the world’s 6 billion people worked on hand-held computers for 24 hours a day, it would take them 46 years to do what the Roadrunner computer can do in a single day.

The IBM and Los Alamos engineers worked six years on the computer technology.

Some elements of the Roadrunner can be traced back to popular video games, said David Turek, vice president of IBM’s supercomputing programs. In some ways, he said, it’s “a very souped-up Sony PlayStation 3.”

“We took the basic chip design (of a PlayStation) and advanced its capability,” said Turek.

It’s amazing to think that 255448 people have signed a petition to get Uwe Boll to stop making movies. He makes a bunch of game movies and the general consensus is that he butchers them all. I’ve actually only seen two of his movies that I remember. The first was In The Name Of The King which was terrible despite having a bunch of great actors in it and the second was BloodRayne II on the Sci Fi channel. That second one was so bad I couldn’t even get through the whole thing.

Sometimes I find the world of the internet to be a baffling and confusing place. I’m a tech guy and it’s not a technical thing at all. It’s the people that confuse me. Case in point is an email submission I received from Brandon. I’ve edited things for spelling and so on, just to make the read easier.

Points Taken Away

I just got 2,000 points and I bought the legendary maps for Halo 3. It worked out perfect, but when I was playing in matchmaking a paragraph popped up and said you have just bought Bungie Pro. You now have 310 Microsoft points.

I was really angry that it took my points away with out me buying Bungie Pro. I was asking if you could give me back the points. My gamer tag is xxxxxx. Thank you for reading this message and I hope you will give me the points back.

Brandon

After converting that email submission into traditional spelling, I was pretty baffled by it. Does Brandon somehow think I work for Microsoft? Does he think I’m the master of Halo 3? Am I supposed to give him points from my own account? That last one is even more confusing since I’m a PlayStation 3 guy and we pay in cold hard cash and not points.

In the end I realized a couple things. 1) Brandon’s tale was full of woe and sadness. 2) People are weird and confusing. 3) Halo 3 sounds pretty lame compared to Call of Duty 4. 4) I’m hungry and it’s lunch time. 5) Spelling and context have been lost to the new generation. And finally, 6) Microsoft seems shady.

If anyone from Microsoft reads this and can help fix this whole matter, drop me a line and I’ll pass Brandon’s gamer tag to you. Perhaps some good karma and redemption will come your way and save your evil soul.

In the end, I hope you get your points back Brandon and then become the Master Chief of all Xbox Land…if there is such a thing.
Peace

The number “1″. He paid… $14 MILLION dollars in a charity auction.

Why? “I bought it because it’s the best number,” he stated. “I bought it because I want to be the best in the world.”

His family earned its fortune in real estate. I suspect they have a lot more money, and this wasn’t a big deal to him.

But it begs the question: is the car he is going to place it on worth less than the plate? That would be embarassing!

It would be kind of ironic to place it on a Ford Pinto, or rusted out Chevy.

In case you’re wondering, the charity auction earned money for… wait for it… “a rehabilitation center for victims of traffic accidents.” Well, isn’t that nice!

I wonder how things would be if people like this guy spent money on curing cancer or finding ways to reduce global warming. Don’t get me wrong: this auction raised $24 million and that’s a great thing. But there are a lot of other charities out there that need help too.

I am also pissed he outbid me. I could only afford $13 million, tops.
