The DBS will cost you a cool $262,000.00. So I guess if you could affort that price you wouldn’t mind an extra 41K for a watch to go with it.

James Bond would be so proud. No word, though, as to if it actually tells time.

These are pretty cool looking ipod speakers, and appear to be highly rated on amazon.com.

These guys are smart speakers. Apparently, they sound amazing. And I would hope so! From the video I saw you can use them in a variety of environments. They plug into the wall for electricity, and have a variety of plugs for attaching components.

I wonder what it would be like sitting in a darkened room watching Star Wars, when all of a sudden – Mrwarrrrrrrrr. Mrwarrrrrrrrr (sound of two TIE Fighters flying through space). Do you think you would make it to the bathroom? Or would you just pee your pants right there? Just curious.

From the article:

“Created by <a href="http://www.qm-entertainment.com/"rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.qm-entertainment.com');">Question Mark Entertainment his nifty TIE Fighter speaker doesn’t look like an awesome speaker for some people, but if you are a Star Wars fan things could change very quickly. These TIE Fighter speakers are just out of the prototype stage, and were rolled out at CeBIT, the big consumer electronics confab in Hannover, Germany. - Via - Gizmodo”

I want you to understand, however, that there is no way in heck my wife would let me ever get these things. However, they are pretty sweet to look at. These aren’t even the strangest speakers in this article. Some of the others include headless dogs (my cat might like those), and high heel shoes. Check out the link below for the full article.

In all honesty…they’re very good, but nothing the average joe could ever own.

I have a 52′ LCD Samsung widescreen television with a Yamaha surround-sound and a PlayStation 3. In the house, but in different rooms, we also have two PlayStation 2 consoles, an Xbox, and a Wii. One day I’d love to get another television and have them all together. Besides that, I need a 1080p television. Mine only does 720p which is great, but I think I’m missing something.

My point really was that a nice home gaming setup doesn’t have to be impossible. Check out this setup I found on the Call of Duty 4 IW forum. It was posted by a person named Mafiaguy66 and is one of the coolest setups I’ve ever seen. For some reason it really appealed to the inner geek in me a lot more then some of the super fancy setups that GeekAbout had, but that’s just me. Go check out the 9 they have (number 9 is my personal favorite) and then leave me a note telling me what you think.

When I was a kid, we had two dogs, and they were always digging under the fence and wandering off. That’s one of the reasons I am a big time cat person.

We used to spend hours out looking for them. It was embarrassing calling out “Dixie! Snowball!” at the top of my lungs. I frequently wonder if our neighbors thought we were a bit loopy. In any case, this device would have saved me a lot of pain and misery: it’s a GPS collar.

It’s actually Assisted GPS. It works wherever there is cell coverage. So, even if your dog is playing in the woods, or inside a garage somewhere, the system will be able to locate it.

They even have a call center that is open 24/7 to assist you if your dog gets lost!

The PetSafe company website says it is for 30lb dogs or bigger. It has a rechargeable battery, and it lets you know about 24 hours before the battery runs out. The collar comes with two sets of batteries, though, so your dog is never without protection. Pretty sweet, huh? To top it all off, the thing only weighs 4.2 oz.

Here is their website: <a href="http://www.petsafegpslocator.com/index.html"target="_blank" class="fullsource" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/www.petsafegpslocator.com');">Dog GPS Collar

I just got a set of the SurroundXi speakers. You can see a picture of them to the left. I want to assure you that I GOT THE SILVER SET, NOT THE PINK ONE! Not that there is anything wrong with a guy getting pink speakers, or a pink ipod, of course. Ahem.

In any case, they sound really nice. I was surprised at how much noise this speaker puts out, actually. I opened the box in my kitchen and listened to music in the dining nook. The sound filled the area nicely without trouble.

You can’t really tell from the picture, but the SurroundXi is actually a tube with a speaker on either side. It has a solid feeling aluminum outside.

There are two models… one has a dock for your ipod. The other has a thumb drive adapter. Unfortunately, I ended up with the thumb drive adapter model. The buttons on the front work only when the thumb drive is attached. That’s OK, though. It came with an adapter to plug into my ipod, and you can control things like volume through the ipod itself, which is fine by me.

I’m going to play with my speakers for a few days, and put up a full review. So far, however, I am impressed both with the quality of the set and also the sound.

These speakers come in a variety of colors… you can find them at K-Mart, Target, H.E.B. and OSH, according to the company’s flyer. I found them at Target, and they were $39.99 there.
