macThe folks over at iFixit recently took apart a 27″ iMac to see what it looked like inside.  They discovered some interesting things about it.:

“* The iMac will not act as a second (or primary) display using the Mini Display Port to DVI adapter that Apple sells. We tried it on a PS3 Slim, as well as a MacBook and MacBook Pro. It looks like we’ll have to wait for a special
adapter from Apple or a third party.

* The iMac worked with a MacBook Pro 13″ that had a Mini DisplayPort. After testing the other devices, we verified that the iMac wasn’t acting goofy by plugging in the MacBook Pro a second time. The iMac’s screen immediately became
a secondary display without the need to click Command-F2, the command used to toggle the video source that’s shown on the iMac’s LCD.”
If you’d like to see the pictures they took, check out the links below.  If you save the image to your computer, you can create a desktop wallpaper with it.  I did, and it looks pretty sweet.  I am having a little trouble seeing my icons, but otherwise am in complete geek heaven.

Belkin has a Mini-display to Mini-display adaptor that works with an MBP.
