Wolfenstein is a good game, not a great one.  The graphics are a bit dated, frankly, and the AI leaves something to be desired.  However, it’s still a blast to play.

You really notice just how sketchy the graphics are in the cut scenes.  They look slightly better than PS2 or XBOX graphics, but certainly not up to par with current gen games like Killzone 2 or even older games like Bioshock.

As I mentioned before, AI is somewhat lacking.  Many of the German guards and grunts just kind of ran into my gunfire.  They would be firing from behind doors and debris, and then just kind of run towards me shooting randomly.  Also, they would fall over dead with a single shot to the knees or legs.

That said, the guns are pretty cool and so is the Veil.  The Veil is a shadowy world that you step into.  It also refers to magical powers you gain throughout the game.  I also like that you can upgrade your weapons with money and intel you find during missions.

I read that it is about a ten hour game.  I think I got about 15 hours out of it, but I have a tendency to explore more and try and find loot.   However, it’s still a short enough game that I would suggest it as a rental.  It’s a fun game though certainly not worth full price.

With all its shortcoming, Wolfenstein is still a fun game. If you want a few hours of relaxing gun play, and you can turn your mind off for a bit, this game is worth a look.
