Oh snap! Is this what the world is coming to? People having to sell their PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles simply to be able to survive in this bad economy? That’s just simply tragic don’t you think? I can’t imagine selling my console. Who cares about food anyway?
Don’t answer, just read this…
Times are bad. When you’re going broke, you’ve got to sell things to pay the bills and keep the kids fed. And when that happens, it’s time to sell the game consoles. This according to an Associated Press report in the Chicago Tribune (via Kotaku ), in which they report that the current recession has seen pawnbroking group Cash America rake in more than $1 billion in revenues for the first time ever.
While you might value your console of choice, your Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and other consoles don’t keep food on the table, and that means they’re a few of the items at the top of the list. “We’re seeing a lot of expensive video game systems, PlayStation 3s and Xbox and others, and a lot of LCDs (flat-screen televisions),” said Ace Pawn Shop manager Chris Banul.

As a side note, maybe I can pick up a cheap Xbox 360. Might have to look into that.
