Product to Avoid: HP PhotoSmart C4480 All In One Printer

I got the HP PhotoSmart C4480 All In One Printer with a new computer back in September.  I now wish I had picked a different model.

I have had numerous issues with it including frequent paper jams and freeze-ups.  It clogs up if you try and print more than two pages at a time.

Sometimes, I’ll  try and print only to discover that it’s completely dead.  The only way to fix that little problem is to unplug it and plug it back in again.

You should also know that it really isn’t a very good photo printer.  Photos look embossed even with premium photo paper.

The printer is currently sitting next to my bookshelf on the floor with a paper jam that is so deep in the innards of the thing that I fear I’ll never be able to get it out.  Instead, I am going to try and return it to Best Buy. Wish me luck.

I have owned several all-in-one HP printers before this one.  All have been good or excellent in use and quality.  Before writing this article, I looked online and found that many other people have been having the same troubles I have had with the HP PhotoSmart C4480 All In One Printer.

not sure if you still have it but have you tried removing the backdoor of your printer? If you go to the HP Solution center and search “Paper Jam/Mis Feed” you’ll get step by step instructions on how to remove the paper jam from the back …
