Have you heard of LifeLock? Surely you have seen or heard the ads where the guy says his Social Security Number and tells you about this service which supposedly prevents identity theft. Guess what: it doesn’t.
In fact Tod Davis, the pitchman, is actually giving out his SSN. And his identity has been stolen at least once. I bet you didn’t hear that in the ads.
“A fraud alert does not make you bullet-proof to identity theft. So there was an individual who was able to go out in Fort Worth, Texas, get a $500 pay day loan because the issuing pay day loan company did not use one of the major credit bureaus,” he (Todd Davis) said.
Keep in mind, LifeLock’s guarantee wouldn’t cover Davis in this case because he “unnecessarily” shared his social security number — a violation of LifeLock policies.”
Furthermore, the service he is selling does absolutely nothing that you and I couldn’t do for ourselves for free. Read more about LIfeLock below before signing up.
