Slide:ology Review

Saturday, September 13, 2008

I wrote an article recently about slide:ology, a new book by Nancy Duarte, and realized I hadn’t done a final review. I wanted to let you know that I have been using slide:ology in my other job. In that position, I design and run reports for a State agency.  Occasionally I put together PowerPoint presentations.

Using some of the principles I learned in slide:ology, I created a kick ass presentation recently.  I have gotten a lot of positive comments about it.  In fact, other offices have taken the presentation and are using it to serve customers.
Unfortunately, my boss asked if I could look at updating our other presentations since this last one turned out so nicely.  Oh well… job security!
The thing I really like about this book is that it is easy to pick up and jump right in. You can turn it to just about any page and learn something. Nearly every page has bright and colorful pictures and graphics, and the descriptions are clear and easy to follow.
I am so glad I got this book.
