PS3 Bluetooth Headset
Wednesday, September 3, 2008
The PlayStation Blog has some details for the new PlayStation 3 Bluetooth headset coming out soon. It will actually be included in the $60 SOCOM: Confrontation bundle (which is good news, because I’ll be getting that game) or by itself for $50. Some features of the headset include:
- “High-Quality” mode with use on PS3, offering noise cancellation and a better chat quality on the console.
- The quality of the headset will allegedly allow for more accurate commands of AI-controlled squad mates. There will also be “voice animation” where the player’s avatar will “mimic” them during voice chat.
- There will be an in-game status indicator exclusive to the headset, showing connection status, battery charge, speaker volume and mute status.
- Cradling the set back on the dock will turn it into a “desktop microphone” while charging.
Nice deal. Buy a game and for an extra $10 get this headset with a nice stand. The big plus is it has an easy mic mute button that most standard bluetooth headsets don’t.

An extrta $10 for the headset is serious value for money, but $50 if you buy it on it’s own is not, iv’e got a jabra bt105 which was around $20 and it works perfectly and the sound is crystal, it may not have a charge indicator but just charge it after each use and you will be fine
