Does your dog run off or get lost a lot? When I was a kid, we had two dogs, and they were always digging under the fence and wandering off. That’s one of the reasons I am a big time cat person.

We used to spend hours out looking for them. It was embarrassing calling out “Dixie! Snowball!” at the top of my lungs. I frequently wonder if our neighbors thought we were a bit loopy. In any case, this device would have saved me a lot of pain and misery: it’s a GPS collar.

It’s actually Assisted GPS. It works wherever there is cell coverage. So, even if your dog is playing in the woods, or inside a garage somewhere, the system will be able to locate it.

They even have a call center that is open 24/7 to assist you if your dog gets lost!

The PetSafe company website says it is for 30lb dogs or bigger. It has a rechargeable battery, and it lets you know about 24 hours before the battery runs out. The collar comes with two sets of batteries, though, so your dog is never without protection. Pretty sweet, huh?  To top it all off, the thing only weighs 4.2 oz.
