The rumor is that Yahoo! is about to layoff thousands of its workers. This may be contingent upon its stock price, which has been falling lately.
In some stories, they are calling the possible event a ”mass firing.” I’m wondering if this may be an effort to get around paying Unemployment Benefits (UI), but that is completely my opinion, and not based on anything that I have been told or I have read.
If you are fired it’s more difficult to secure UI, however it’s not impossible. In Washington, there is an investigation, which can take weeks, to determine if the firing was justified. Many times, people who have been fired are able to receive payments, but this is a case-by-case basis.

Now, in my mind, Google is much more informative on this subject and many others. I sure hope Yahoo! will be able to return to its former glory. I used to love using them as a search engine. But lately, I have found my heart wandering…
