The Beltronics Shifter ZR4 ($500) is not a radar detector. It’s actually a radar jamming device. It comes with front and rear mount transceivers so that you can completely block the police’s laser (and the reflection reading) for both K and Ka-band. Should save you a few bucks if you tend to be a lead foot.

Actually, you’re partially correct. The ZR4 is a laser jammer (or “shifter” as the company likes to call it) ONLY. It does not jam radar at all. Jamming radar is illegal, at this is governed by the FCC. Laser is governed by the FDA, so you can jam laser legally. However, some states have bans on laser jammers. Best to check with your local authorities first…

hi sorry dude, its not a radar detector and its also not a radar jammer, it is a LASER JAMMER, very different altogether. it is not possible to jam radar. There are a host of more capable and more effective laser jammers on the market now, checkout http://www.radars.com.au
