The holiday I received the PlayStation 3 version of The Orange Box and one of the 5 games on the disk that I’ve become addicted to rather quickly is Team Fortress 2. It’s an online multi-player only first person shooter (FPS) game that’s incredibly fun. You have a bunch of character classes to choose from like Soldier, Engineer, Scout, Medic, Sniper, and Spy.

What I like about it is every class has it’s own weaponry and special abilities, for example the Engineer can build sentry turrets and then upgrade them to have better guns and rockets. The Spy can disguise themselves as any class on the opposing team and also use an invisibility cloak for a period of time. I’ve probably played more as a Spy then any other class. Being able to cloak past the enemy front lines and then use a disguise to come up behind them and then back-stab is awesome. Using the electro sapper on sentry turrets is a great skill too.

As great as all that is, I’ve also been countered and killed by every class out there. They all have great strengths and weaknesses. I also like the 3 or so maps I’ve played (there’s only 5 or 6) because they are fairly roomy, but yet allow for plenty of fast and furious mayhem. The Orange Box is definitely worth this one game alone, even though you get all of Half Life 2 (plus episodes 1 & 2) and the new game Portal. I’m sure I’ll have hours and hours of gaming to enjoy with this one.

Rating: ★★★★½
