When Mercenaries 2: World in Flames comes out, you won’t see me for some time. The first Mercenaries game for Playstation 2 is one that I still play, although on my PS3. Just like the first one, Mercenaries 2 will feature complete open-world action gaming in a in a massive, highly detailed war-torn environment. The story revolves around a power-hungry tyrant after Venezuela’s oil supply that sparks an invasion, turning the country into a warzone.It will have the latest and most dangerous in civilian and military technology. Everything from shiny new sports cars and boats, to satellite-guided bunker-busting mini-nukes. You’ll have tanks, APCs, boats, luxury automobiles, helecopters and more all delivered to you in real-time just like the original game. Low cash just means you need to “liberate” any gear you need out in the field

If you see it, you can buy it, steal it, or blow the hell out of it. You can play it it alone or with the help of a friend in the new cooperative multiplayer mode. Features include:

• Cooperative Multiplayer – finally!
• Realistic Fire – ground breaking fire effects lets you set fire to buildings, vehicles and people. Shoot holes in the sides of fuel trucks to watch the oil spill out around enemies and and then strike a match
• Swim – no more drowning! Finally! Use watercraft or swim through oceans, rivers and lakes
• Own Private Military Company – recruiting other mercenaries you meet in the game
• A Massive Game World – it’s larger than all of the first game
• Consequences – every action you make has ramifications throughout the entire country
• New toys – more weapons, vehicles and support options including the new grappling hook to latch on to flying vehicles
• Make Money – the world is yours
