Finally the Playstation 3 goodness is going to be flowing strong over the next few months. After all the waiting for some great games, it’s time to really enjoy the present I was given on my birthday eight months ago. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had some great fun with games like Oblivion, Resistance: Fall of Man, Rainbow Six: Vegas, and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. It’s just been limited fun.

Now that changes as this PS3 Spotlight series will highlight.

Assassin’s Creed is set in 1191 AD (this is the first in the franchise) when the Third Crusade is battling in the Holy Land. A secret society of Assassins intends to stop the war by suppressing both sides of the conflict and kill specific leaders. You play as the main character Altair and you’ll be able to specifically shape certain events during this moment in history.

As an elite Assassin battling both Crusader and Saracen alike, you carry out deadly missions. As things progress, a conspiracy begins to unfold and you find yourself tangled up in a conflict that threatens not only the Holy Land, but the entire world.

  • Plan your attacks, strike without mercy, and fight your way to escape.
  • Every action has consequences. Crowds react to your moves, and will either help or hinder you on your quests.
  • Eliminate your targets wherever, whenever, and however. Do whatever it takes to achieve your objectives. Total freedom.

One of my favorite all time franchises is Splinter Cell and I really like this type of game. This is my #1 pick to own.

Ships: 11/13/2007
