Here’s a look at Wolverine and the X-Men the new animated Marvel series. It’s going to be on the BBC, but hopefully it will end up coming to the US as well.

Liberation Entertainment continue to bolster its increasingly attractive portfolio of titles with the announcement today of a deal with First Serve Toonz for the acquisition of the DVD and VOD rights to a 26 part animated series based on the iconic Marvel characters Wolverine and the X-Men.
Liberation’s multi-tiered deal for one of Marvel’s most popular characters includes confirmation that the BBC has acquired the television rights for the UK.
Jay Boberg, CEO of Liberation Entertainment, said “we are very glad to be involved in this first class original series, and to be working in partnership with Marvel and First Serve Toonz.”
Spencer Pollard, MD of Liberation Entertainment said, “Wolverine and the X-Men is a huge franchise and with the Wolverine movie planned for 2008, this should secure huge interest for our DVD releases. With the strong interest in the show from the leading broadcasters around the world, we can ensure that our TV sales team can work strategically with our UK and International DVD sales teams to maximise the returns for everyone.
I’m sure this is a push since the Wolverine movie is in the works. It will be interesting to see what happens with this series.

do you really belive it won’t come on in the U.S?! it’s apart of American pop culture, anything to do with Marvel Comics, xmen for that matter ,will be shown in th united state, marvel studios is located in New York city for goodness sake, why would they shoot themselves in the foot and put a popular comic book/animated series on the bbc?! i mean i love bbc.but it’s not that broad of a staion to carry a name as large as the “XMEN” i would much rather see it on adult swim,or cartoon network somewhere in the mid evening, atleast put it on a station where the xmen can be adults this time, why not the sci-channel?! of FX,please no “KIDS WB” try spike tv,somewhere where they can shine without too much restriction,im ready to see the xmen be bad asses like in the 90′s tv show, don’t dumb it down like those movies please! and let ROGUE be a hot sexy mess like she was in the comics, and the 90′s show before those lame ass movies derailed her.nuff said!
