McAllen, Texas: My XBOX360 Arrives

It’s been nearly a week since I mailed my Xbox 360, two weeks since I started getting freeze-ups followed by the Red Ring of Death. I have watched my 360 through the UPS site. It took three days, and 6 stops before it finally reached McAllen, Texas. The UPS site now says my box weighs 8.0 pounds. Boy is that a head scratcher. Where’d the .35 pounds go to?
I called up Max, Microsoft’s computerized answering system, hoping for some good news. Max knew it was me again. He said my XBOX has been received and is being repaired. That’s all he would tell me.
Max didn’t sound quite so chipper this time. In fact, he sounded a little hung over. I decided to hang up rather than endure a bleary diatribe of how he was feeling. Maybe he’s getting tired of fielding broken XBOX calls? I wonder if deep down inside he feels a little insecure knowing at any moment he too might be on his way South in a little box marked “Fragile.”
Instead, I checked online for cool facts about McAllen, Texas. I’ll post them until I get my system back.
Today’s cool fact: McAllen’s Southern boundary is less than 5 miles from the US/Mexico border!
Hmp. Maybe I should be writing cool facts about Mexico, since it sounds like my XBOX might be headed there, next.
