Like many around the world, I was shocked and saddened at the news that Steve Irwin passed away this weekend. I suppose I should be glad that he at least died doing what he loved so much, but I still think it was a horrible thing.
Mr Irwin, 44, died after being struck in the chest by the stingray’s barb while he was filming a documentary in Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef.
Paramedics from Cairns rushed to the scene but were unable to save him.
BBC News – ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Irwin killed
The guy was amazing for what he did and he brougght so much knowledge to the world of crocs, snakes, and other dangerous animals. I almost expected a croc attack or to hear that while handling a poisonous snake, he got bit or something, but no…a suprise stingray attack is what did it.
Anyway, I am sad about the loss to the entire world and my thoughts go out to his family.
Farewell, Croc Hunter Steve. You will be missed.
